July Fourth Is Just around the Corner

Let’s get back to it

Already planning your Independence Day weekend? Here are a few things to know before next week.

If you’re all in for fireworks, you have plenty of options during the July Fourth weekend and even beyond. On July 3, Egg Harbor will shoot off its display over the harbor after music by the Modern Day Drifters at 5 pm, and Kewaunee will celebrate with a display of its own at Lakehaven Hall. Baileys Harbor, Sturgeon Bay and Gills Rock will launch their fireworks July 4, and Sister Bay will stretch the much-missed opportunity to take in a sky show to July 10 after the Lion’s Club’s brat fry.

Kewaunee will celebrate on July 3 with a veterans parade at 6 pm, live music and the second annual Art Walk. Although the Baileys Harbor parade has been canceled this year, the town will come together on July 4 for a block party with music, games, food and more. Egg Harbor’s Independence Day parade on July 4 will begin at 1:30 pm.

The Hairpin Run will return to Fish Creek on July 4 for folks who are looking to lace up their running shoes and get back out there, and Gills Rock is floating its boat regatta at 7:30 pm.Check out the events calendar at doorcountypulse.com/events for more details, and look for a full list of events in the July 2 issue of the Peninsula Pulse.
