Junction Center Yoga Hosts “A Day of Ayurveda & Self Care”

Learn to live in harmony with the cool dry elements of autumn using yoga, massage and herbs as medicine on Oct. 25, 11 am – 4 pm, during “A Day of Ayurveda & Self Care” at Junction Center Yoga Studio.

Judith Rybicki, doctor of Oriental medicine and Certified Bodytalk Practitioner, will present an experiential learning opportunity for a limited number of individuals who are interested in finding out more about some of India’s ancient healing practices using Ayurveda.

Participants will experience the following: a brief introduction to the Ayurvedic philosophy of health care; the five elements in nature and the body; managing Vata Dosha in the cool dry of autumn; self-care practices, including nasya and nasal oilation; meditation and yoga to balance Vata Dosha; culinary herbs and food as medicine; and Ayurvedic facial and head rejuvenation massage. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and bring along two old towels. Be prepared to get your head pleasantly and therapeutically oily. Vata management kits will be available for purchase after the workshop.

The event takes place at Junction Center Yoga Studio, 3435 N. Junction Road, north of Jacksonport in the Town of Egg Harbor. The cost is $165 per person with a $50 advanced deposit required to hold your space. A vegetarian Indian cuisine luncheon is included. Space is limited to 20 people, so interested persons are encouraged to register by making a deposit online at heydrjude.org, emailing [email protected], or calling 786.877.9354.
