‘June Falling Down’ Screening, Filmmaker Q&A Oct. 29

June Falling Down, a feature film shot in Door County, will be screened Oct. 29, 7 pm at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. A filmmaker Q&A will follow the screening.

The film is a mix of comedy and drama, and centers around a young woman returning home to Door County for her best friend’s wedding and the one-year anniversary of her father’s death. Rebecca Weaver wrote and directed, and Chris Irwin assistant directed and produced. June Falling Down features local talent Nick Hoover, Claire Morkin, Evan Board, Justin Pahnturat, Elliot Goettelman, Joanna Becker, and Steven Koehler, as well as countless other Door County actors, local extras, and musicians (including performances by Katie Dahl and Big Mouth). It was filmed around the county, including at the Northern Grill and the AC Tap in Sister Bay, Town Hall Bakery in Jacksonport, Nelson’s Hardware in Baileys Harbor, Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor, Ephraim Village Hall, and Whitefish Dunes.

This last spring June Falling Down won Best American Independent Feature at the Sonoma International Film Festival as well as other awards at Lone Star, Knoxville, Portland, and East Lansing Film Festivals. The film is finishing its 15 festival run this fall with plans to release to the public this winter.

Suggested donations of $8/$10 appreciated at the door. Proceeds go toward marketing the indie film for online release in 2018. The film is 1 hour 54 minutes and is comparable to a PG-13 rating for language and drug use. To see a trailer, visit JuneFallingDown.com.
