June Rain Sets Record for Door County

The 9.57 inches of rain the county received in June, as recorded in Sturgeon Bay, smashed the previous all-time high of 8.26 inches set in 1990 and was the third most ever to fall in Door County in a single month. The average June rainfall is 3.49 inches.
The all-time record for rain in one month is 10.54 inches, set in May of 1918. June is typically a rainy month, with a mean rainfall of 3.47 inches, the most of any month.
Door County has now recorded 20.79 inches of rain in 2017, more than six inches greater than the typical 14.02 inches received through June. The county typically receives 30.60 inches of rain a year. The most rain recorded in any year was 47.36 in 1985.
