“Katie Dahl Day” at Ecology Sports/Base Camp

Come in from the cold for a morning of hot cider, warm sweaters, and cool music as Ecology Sports/Base Camp celebrates its first-annual “Katie Dahl Day” on Saturday, October 24 from 8 am – 2 pm.

Ecology Sports and Base Camp Coffee Shop will offer special deals on coffee, food, clothing, and gifts as Door County folksinger Katie Dahl serenades shoppers with a morning of acoustic folk music, including songs from her brand-new CD, County Line. Dahl will also offer a free, weather-permitting concert on the Ecology Sports lawn with bass player and percussionist Rich Higdon.

Door County music lovers have flocked to see up-and-coming folksinger Katie Dahl perform across the peninsula, sharing the stage with such musicians as Eric Lewis, Tommy Burroughs, Karen Mal, and Jimmy Kaplan. With the July release of her debut CD, Dahl celebrated the official beginning of a blossoming performing and recording career. Regular customers also know her as the friendly barista behind the Base Camp counter and are invited to bid her farewell before she leaves the county for the winter to promote her CD. County Line has been described as “a folk-infused celebration of love and the American landscape.”

There is no cover charge for “Katie Dahl Day” or for the outdoor concert at noon. Guests should contact Base Camp in the morning for confirmation of the planned concert, which will not take place in the event of rain or snow.
