Katie Reimer to Play at UUF

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship is pleased to present concert pianist Katie Reimer on Oct. 2 at 5 pm. Acclaimed by the New York Times for her meditative playing, Reimer is a concert pianist with broad interests as both a soloist and collaborative musician. She has performed extensively across the United States and internationally in Vienna, Kaunas and Stockholm.

The program for the evening, titled “Metamorphosis,” will explore the way composers spanning 300 years use repetition to slowly transform and change our understanding of an original idea. The program includes J.S. Bach, Prelude and Fugue in C Major; WTC Book 1; Frédéric Chopin, Prelude, Op. 28, No. 15, “Raindrop”; Mohammed Fairouz, Piano Miniatures Nos. 4, 9, 10, 11; Philip Glass, Mad Rush & Wichita Vortex Sutra; Franz Liszt, Mullerlieder von Franz Schubert, S. 565, No. 1, “Das Wandern”; Daniel Bernard Roumain, Nine Soul Settings of a Bach Chorale; and Franz Schubert, Impromptu, Op. 90, No. 3.
