Keb’ Mo’ Brings Blues to Life

On Sept. 9 at 7 pm, Grammy-winning blues artist Keb’ Mo’ will perform at Door Community Auditorium. A living link between the swampy groove of traditional Delta blues and the polished artistry of contemporary blues, Keb’ Mo’ boasts a “wonderfully expressive voice and deft guitar work [that] elevate him miles above the competitive ranks” (Billboard). Mo’s vibrant, versatile performances have the power to make blues music—and the stories hidden within that music—come to life.

Though he is primarily a blues artist, Keb’ Mo’ embraces multiple eras and genres, injecting the blues with folk, jazz, gospel, and R&B. The winner of three Grammy Awards and ten W.C. Handy Awards, Mo’ has collaborated with artists as respected and varied as Natalie Cole, Bonnie Raitt, Solomon Burke, The Dixie Chicks, and Willie Nelson.

Mo’s greatest talent as a songwriter and performer is his underlying storytelling ethic, which pervades his music and makes his live performances memorable events.

Keb’ Mo’s concert is sponsored by Lori and David Nicholas, Settlement Courtyard Inn and Lavender Spa, Edgewood Orchard Gallery, The Cookery Restaurant and Wine Bar, FLS Banners, Parkwood Lodge, and Wisconsin Public Radio.
