Kewaunee Back-to-School Program Is Great Success

More than 15,000 donated school supplies were available for Kewaunee County kids to choose from at the Kewaunee County Public Health Department’s annual Back-to-School Program. This year, about 300 kids were able to pick out backpacks, lunch boxes, school supplies and shoes, and they decorated thank-you notes for donors.

“This is a much-needed program for Kewaunee County, and community support that we receive continues to grow by leaps and bounds each year,” said Cindy Kinnard, director of the health department. “We have had some really generous donors come forward through the years, and this time around, we would like to send special thanks to the person who anonymously donated more than $1,000 worth of supplies, and the couple who collected supplies at their wedding and went shopping with their wedding gift money for even more items.”
