Kewaunee County Art Scene: Caffé Tlazo Begins Artists Series

On March 1 from 11 am – 2 pm, Caffé Tlazo in Algoma will be presenting the artwork of David Kapszukiewicz as the first artist in the Tlazo Artist Series. This is an opportunity for patrons to meet outstanding local talent, view and purchase original works of art, all in a warm, comfortable, and relaxing environment.

David Kapszukiewicz is a resident of Appleton, Wisconsin and holds a BA in Art from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. After a 33-year career as a graphic designer, Kapszukiewicz became a full time student at The Kewaunee Academy of Fine Art (KAFA) whose mission is to “train and prepare students for a career in contemporary representational painting.” While attending KAFA, he continues to paint in his studio in Appleton, work on commissioned projects and paint plein air.

Kapszukiewicz believes that, “Art is the result of not only skill and hard work, but life’s accumulation of knowledge and experiences; influences and beliefs; observations and impressions; and perceptions and biases.” Kapszukiewicz can be reached at [email protected] or 920.213.0090.

On March 1 from 11 am – 2pm take a break from the cold weather and stop in Caffé Tlazo, located at 607 4th Street in Algoma, where visitors are welcome to enjoy Caffé Tlazo’s unique menu, a conversation with the artist himself and the opportunity to purchase original works of art.
