Kewaunee County Emergency Management is inviting residents to get rid of unwanted agricultural and household hazardous waste, as well as expired and unused medication for free during their “2017 Clean Sweep” collection.
The event runs from 8 am to noon on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, at the Kewaunee County Hillside Highway Shop, E2180 Hwy. 54, Casco. There will be volunteers on site unloading the items being brought to the highway shop for safe disposal by Kewaunee County with the help of Veolia Environmental Services, as part of grants received from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Residents interested in participating in the event are asked to preregister for drop-off. This can be done by calling Kewaunee County Emergency Management on Monday-Friday from 8-11:30 am before the date of the event or by filling out an online form at kewauneeco.org. The form can be found on the homepage of the website under the “2017 Clean Sweep” tab on the left-hand side of the screen. Participants can submit completed forms online or print them to fill out and send in the mail: Kewaunee County Emergency Management, 625 3rd St., Luxemburg, WI 54217. Phone: 920.845.9700.
