Kewaunee County Offering Loan Extension

To focus on recovery from COVID-19 closures, Kewaunee County is giving small businesses that borrowed from the Revolving Loan Fund an optional extension before they must reinstate payments.

The Kewaunee County Finance Committee has agreed to allow deferral of all principal and interest payments through Sept. 30, 2020 – a four-month extension. The Emergency Order signed on March 30, 2020, had allowed for deferral for April and May. During the extended deferral period, interest will continue to accrue at the rate provided in the promissory note to borrowers, who still have the option to make payments.

Kewaunee County reopened its offices to the public June 8. All visitors must enter by the main entrance of each county building, then call the department they wish to visit (a phone for public use and a list of department extensions will be provided). An employee will greet them, and a COVID-19 screening that includes a temperature check and symptom review will be administered. If approved, visitors will be asked to sanitize their hands and will be escorted to and from the department they’re visiting.
