Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Committee Takes a Parks Tour

The summer months have kept the Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Department busy, as staff and volunteers enhance parks that are continuously drawing more outdoor enthusiasts.

Improvement projects include: the Magic Carpet conveyor belt on the snow tubing hill at Winter Park, a new swing set at Red River Park, the addition of a baseball infield to create more team practice space at tournaments, additional green space at Bruemmer Park & Zoo, an open-air poultry shelter at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds, an updated visitor kiosk at Ahnapee State Trail and new lighting in parking lots at Krohn’s Lake and West Alaska Lake.

On Aug. 15, Kewaunee County Board Supervisors who make up the Promotion & Recreation Committee took a parks tour with Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Director Dave Myers to see improvements first-hand.

“We’ve got a lot happening in Kewaunee County and as we attract more visitors, we need to create an environment that they routinely want to keep coming back to and we’ve seen that consistency at Bruemmer Park & Zoo, Red River Park and Winter Park,” said Myers.
