Abby Ostermeier, a Kewaunee High School student, is the featured guest artist for February at Ladybug Gallery in Algoma. She will attend an opening reception Feb. 3, 4-7 pm, to discuss her work, and the reception will continue Feb. 4, 10 am – 4 pm.
Ostermeier started painting at age 15 and is developing her style through encouragement from her art teacher and inspiration from her grandmother and artist Bob Ross. She enjoys painting from her imagination – primarily landscapes in acrylic and oil – by starting with a background and building from there as she chooses.
“I like how I’m able to express myself using paints and making my own little world on a canvas,” Ostermeier said.
