Kewaunee Winter Park Closes for the Season

It is time to thank everyone who has recently visited Winter Park in Kewaunee as the Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Department and Winter Park Association have officially closed the park for skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and snowshoeing until next season. In the nearly two months of being open to the public, Winter Park had welcomed more than 7,000 visitors, including private parties to the hills. “We had a great run this season and our decision to close is not only because we have warmer weather on the way and dangerous hill conditions, it is also based on us looking out for the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff,” said Dave Myers, Kewaunee County Promotion & Recreation Director. “We can’t wait for next season, we have some great things in mind.” Jennifer Schneider, Kewaunee County Tourism Coordinator/Public Information Officer, said, “In the meantime, we would love to have visitors come on out and give our disc-golf course, which winds through the woods at Winter Park, a try.”
