kindgoods Raises $1,500 through Be the Change Initiative

Since May, kindgoods has donated more than $1,500 to six charities through its Be the Change initiative, through which the Sister Bay store selects a different charitable cause or nonprofit organization each month to receive a portion of its proceeds.

The program’s final installment for the year will run through November and December, when kindgoods is honoring those who have given the gift of life through organ donation by donating 10 percent of all holiday-item sales to Donate Life.

Currently, about 58 percent of the country’s adult population are registered organ donors though 95 percent are in favor of it. For more than 25 years, Donate Life has worked at the national and state levels to increase the number of organ, eye and tissue donations to the 113,000 individuals who are currently awaiting transplants. One organ donor has the potential to save up to eight lives.
