Kitchens, Utesch Speak at 1st Assembly Forum Oct. 12

Candidates in the 1st Assembly District race have agreed to meet on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, in a forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Door County. Republican incumbent Joel Kitchens and Democratic challenger Lynn Utesch will appear at the Southern Door High School auditorium, 2073 County DK, Brussels, from 7 to 8:30 pm. Moderated by Stephen Vickman, the forum will open with statements by both candidates. They will then answer written questions from the audience. The forum is not a debate. The forum will be recorded and uploaded on the League website. A live-stream is a possibility, although not confirmed at this writing. This is an opportunity to ask questions and come away better informed to make a choice in November. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization of men and women. LWVDC promotes informed and active involvement of citizens in government and encourage qualified citizens to run for office. The League does not endorse any one candidate or party.
