Kiwanis Club Kicks Off Travelogue Series

The Kiwanis Club of Northern Door kicks off their 30th season of presenting travel films to the community on Friday, September 18 at 7:30 pm, with veteran travel film producers Don and Fran Van Polen presenting A Taste of Old Holland. The film, which focuses on a European journey to the Netherlands, will be screened at the First Baptist Church in Sister Bay.

When the Van Polens last visited Holland, it was declared the most beautiful spring in 24 years. Having photographed Holland several times, the couple knows almost every nook, cranny, and byway of the country. With the Van Polens as guides, viewers will explore the back roads and byways of Old Holland, hear about fascinating stories and traditions, walk through the colorful fields and gardens of tulips, visit the ancient mills on Windmill Day, and savor the flavor of what the country was like a hundred years ago.

Admission to the travelogue is $7/person. A six-ticket season pass is also available, which is valid for admission to all of films shown in the 2009/2010 Travelogue season. Children under 18 are free of charge.

Over its 30-year run, the Kiwanis Travelogue Film Series has presented over 170 travel films by some of the best travel film producers and cinematographers in the industry. For more information, please call 920.854.4825.
