Kiwanis Club Presents Third Travelogue Program

Nov. 18, the Kiwanis Club of Northern Door is sponsoring an ‘all-you-can-eat’ fish fry from 4 – 7 pm at the Mink River Basin in Ellison Bay. The annual dinner is the club’s primary event for funding the Kiwanis’ scholarship program. Each year the club awards three scholarships to local high school graduates headed to college, university or technical school. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $6 for children.

After the meal, the Kiwanis Club will present the third program of their “Travel and Adventure Film” season at 7:30 pm at the First Baptist Church in Sister Bay.

The film will journey through northern Europe, highlighting a geographic sampling of some of the region’s great natural wonders, architectural treasures, and cultural and artistic gems of several cities and countries, including St. Petersburg, Moscow, Prague, Copenhagen, Kiel Canal, Bergen, Amsterdam, Antwerp, London and Paris. Viewers will visit fjords, fish markets, art museums, cathedrals, lively pedestrian streets, great canals and bridges, palaces and parks, and meet some fascinating northern Europeans along the way.

Marlin Darrah, the award-winning executive director and cinematographer of International Film & Video, will present the film live.

Show admission is $7 or $36 for a six-ticket season pass that is valid for admission to any of the season’s remaining travel films. Tickets for the film may be purchased at the door. Children under 18 are admitted free; refreshments will be available during intermission.
