Kopischke Becomes UWGB Assistant Professor

Following a nationwide search, Alan Kopischke is a new assistant professor for UW-Green Bay (UWGB) Theater and Dance.

He has taught theater and arts-management courses at UWGB for the past six and a half years, most recently as an associate lecturer, and he has a decades-long career as a professional actor with theater companies nationwide.

Offstage, Kopischke was executive director of Birch Creek Music Performance Center, development director for Peninsula Players, production manager at Door Community Auditorium and project manager for Milwaukee’s Audience Development Initiative, and he produces the Door Kinetic Arts Festival.

The arts (and sciences) run through Kopischke’s family as well. He and his wife, Kärin Kopischke – a lecturer and costume designer at Lawrence University – are the parents of Art, a performance and theater artist in Queens, New York; and Simon, a math and computer science student at New Mexico Tech.

Beginning with the fall 2023 semester, Kopischke will teach courses in acting and improv and begin building courses in acting for TV and film.
