Kress Presents Video Interview with Marion Utter Volkmann

The Egg Harbor Historical Society will present a video interview with Marion Utter Volkmann on July 8, 3 pm, at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor. She spent her life in Egg Harbor and grew up on a farm that her father managed for Dr. Schroeder of Marinette, who purchased it from Joseph Sterling, who purchased it from Captain Kirtland at the start of the 1900s. Kirtland settled in Egg Harbor in 1863. He was a ship captain on the lakes, starting at age 18, and built a farm on what became known as Kirtland Hill, at the top of the road to the Landmark Resort on the Alpine Golf Course’s upper nine holes.
