Third Avenue Playhouse kicks off its fall season with an exciting new musical collaboration on Saturday, September 13. Singer/songwriters Jeanne Kuhns and Julian Hagen are joined by musicians Hans Christian, Lynn Gudmundsen, and George Sawyn for one performance at 7:30 pm.
Jeanne Kuhns third CD, Ghost Ranch was released earlier this summer. Recorded at Allemande Studio in Sister Bay, the CD features new songs about the earth, love, the trials and triumphs of young people and the joy of creating music and art. Kuhns frequently performs at the Town Hall Bakery and enjoys collaborating with a variety of talented musicians from all over the country. Her versatile style ranges from bluegrass and country/pop to original folk/rock.
Co-hosting the evening of music is Julian Hagen, one of Door County’s favorite and most celebrated musicians. Like his father before him, Hagen has given Door County the gift of music and is making sure that the tradition continues. When he’s not sharing the stage with family members, Hagen can be found singing and playing with his friends and fellow musicians.
Joining Kuhns and Hagen on stage will be Hans Christian, Lynn Gudmundsen and George Sawyn. Christian, a cellist and bassist, has worked extensively as a performer and a composer and enjoys a growing recognition for his accomplishments as a producer, player, and engineer. Door County’s own Lynn Gudmundsen is a professional violinist and fiddler extraordinaire who performs and records frequently with area artists. Rounding out the group and appearing for the first time at Third Avenue Playhouse is guitarist George Sawyn.
