Jeanne Kuhns and George Sawyn are the second featured artists in the Winter Concert Series at the Margaret Lockwood Gallery, 7 S. 2nd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, on Feb. 22, 7 pm. (Doors will open at 6:30 pm.) This duo has been performing together for 10-plus years, often in band formations with others.
Kuhns is a singer/songwriter with whose lyrics offer a view of the world through her connection to nature and stories of life. “Cowbella,” “Hummingbird Falls” and “Isabel” are some of her favorites. She also sings cover songs that shaped her life, a collection of which – accompanied by Sawyn – was released as Bloodroots last year.
Sawyn is known for his masterful solo classical guitar playing and has written many original pieces. Moving up from Chicago many years ago, he has found an integral place in the Door County community, playing with many musicians, for weddings and other events, and in the Peninsula Players orchestra.
Concert tickets are $20. Call 920.495.2928 to reserve your spot, or walk-ins are welcome.
