Lakeshore Vision Center Welcomes Michael Gorz

The Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes Dr. Michael Gorz, O.D. as he joins his parents, Drs. John and Sue Gorz, O.D. at Lakeshore Vision Center.

John’s father, Arthur Gorz of Eagle River, moved to Algoma on a recommendation he received from a local man he met while serving as an optometrist in the Air Force. John and Sue met at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, and upon graduation, they returned to Algoma to continue the family practice, which was established there in 1947. With the addition of Michael, it becomes a third-generation practice.

Michael graduated as valedictorian of his optometry class this past spring and wasted little time returning home. He anticipates “the ability to continue to offer great care to patients … and incorporate new technology into the practice as it becomes available.”
