Laurel Hauser Joins Crossroads Staff

Crossroads at Big Creek welcomes Laurel Hauser as its new assistant director. Crossroads at Big Creek is a scientific, historical and environmental learning preserve in Sturgeon Bay that inspires environmental stewardship.

Hauser was a longtime director of charitable giving for the Door County Land Trust and recently the managing editor of the Washington Island Observer. She’s also a freelance writer and frequent volunteer who co-chaired the effort to create the Sturgeon Bay Skatepark and served on the Sturgeon Bay Common Council.

“We’re committed to our mission of environmental stewardship and all the many ways we enhance people’s lives,” said Director Coggin Heeringa, “whether it’s through attending a class, using our electric charge station for their car or simply taking a hike. Expanding our staff will help us ensure a strong future for Crossroads.”
