Lauretta Kelley Featured Artist at DCAL

In the courtyard at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek, the Gallery of the Door County Art League (DCAL) will feature the work of Lauretta Kelley, artist of the week beginning July 23. Each month the gallery features a prominent guest artist and each week a DCAL member artist is featured.

Kelley shares her time between Door County and Iowa City, and is currently enrolled in the Fine Art Department at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. In Door County, her paintings have been exhibited in juried shows at The Hardy Gallery and the Miller Art Museum. Kelley is a member of the Iowa Watercolor Society, the Iowa Artist Guild, and is co-chair of the Door County Art League. About her work, she indicated, “I chase the light, the image, the mood of the day, my soul, and the spirit of the earth.”

The guest artist of the month is photographer Suzanne Rose. Rose practices as a “mindful minimalist” in style and philosophy.

Gallery guests are invited to choose their favorite artist and complete an Artist’s Choice entry form for a gift certificate drawing held every month. One vote per visit is permitted. The next drawing will be Aug. 13.
