Leadership Door County Holds Mini Golf Outing

(Left to right) Ursula Timreck, Danielle Kapolnek, Carrie Gossen and Gretchen Schmelzer are part of LDC’s class of 2014.

The Red Putter Mini Golf Course in Ephraim was the site for the first ever Leadership Door County Golf Outing on Oct. 8. Fifty-two golfers gathered to negotiate the course on a picture perfect autumn afternoon.

“We took a few pages from the playbook of golf outings held at the big golf courses and put a silly twist on them,” says Anni Lampert, Leadership Door County (LDC) program coordinator. “This year’s class members, LDC alumni, board members and their families all had a terrific time, so I predict this will become an annual event.”

In addition to the traditional prize for the lowest score, trophies were awarded for the highest score, best hat and loudest pants.

LDC is an adult education program with full day sessions running September through June. Now it its 24th year, LDC brings together community members with diverse viewpoints to become stronger leaders and to understand community issues from local leaders in government, education, health care, human services, arts and business.
