League of Women Voters Seeks Election Observers

The Wisconsin League of Women Voters is looking for volunteers to be eyes and ears at the polls. Help monitor the application of new election laws and procedures. In particular, the league is watching for any signs of people being disenfranchised. Anyone may volunteer who is willing to participate in a 90-minute training session – a webinar – prior to the election; can spend at least two hours and preferably half the day at one polling place or be a roving observer who visits a number of polling places; is willing to follow the Wisconsin rules for election observers; agrees to mail in a completed report form following the election (stamped, addressed envelope provided); has a cell phone, to communicate if needed on Election Day. You don’t need to be a league member to volunteer. Sign up at lwvwi.org/Vote2016/ElectionObserverVolunteerForm.aspx.
