Door Community Auditorium (DCA) presents Leahy, Canada’s “first family” of Celtic music, on July 13 at 8 pm. Performing an explosive style of music driven by fiddle, dance and vocals, Leahy has created its own signature blend of Celtic, country, rock, pop and folk music.

Leahy is a family band like no other. From their modest beginnings – their large family was raised on a farm in Lakefield, Ontario –Leahy is becoming one of Canada’s most sought-after musical exports. The members of Leahy have several popular cross-genre albums and numerous awards to their credit, and in 1985 were featured in an Oscar-winning documentary, The Leahys: Music Most of All.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, groundbreaking pioneers of country rock music, will take the stage at DCA on July 16 at 7 pm. Often cited as the catalyst for the modern American roots music movement, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band continues to this day to garner critical accolades and the devotion of fans worldwide. After more than 45 years together and multiple Grammy Awards and hit songs to their name, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s trademark style of roots-rock music is still appealing and powerful.

Their career has included multi-platinum records like Will the Circle Be Unbroken, top-ten hits like “Fishin’ in the Dark” and “Mr. Bojangles,” and multiple Grammy Awards and Country Music Association Awards.
