Learn About Goodrich Ships

All are invited when the Gibraltar Historical Association (GHA) hosts – and Great Lakes diver and historian Jim Baye presents – the last Gibraltar Talks program of the year Sept. 30, 7 pm, at the Old Gibraltar Town Hall.

Baye will speak about the Goodrich Ships, which were founded in 1856 as a Chicago-to-Milwaukee transportation service, eventually delivering summer guests to Door County. He will share his fascination with ships, his collection of related items and their stories. Attendees may also share their memories of the Goodrich Ships and items they’ve collected.

GHA will sell copies of James L. Elliott’s Red Stacks over the Horizon at the free event. Light refreshments will be served. The Alexander Noble House (historicnoble.org) is also continuing its display of Victorian wedding items and customs Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am – 3 pm. Admission is $5 per person.
