Elliot measuring a sturgeon. Submitted.
Have you ever wondered how many sturgeon are in Sturgeon Bay, Green Bay or Lake Michigan? Learn how these prehistoric relics are being restored in Lake Michigan when Rob Elliott, a fish biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, presents “All About Lake Sturgeon: Recovery Efforts in Green Bay and the Great Lakes” on June 12, 7 pm, at the Crossroads at Big Creek. It’s the last talk of the Fish Tales Lecture Series for 2019. Elliott has contributed to and led lake-sturgeon recovery efforts in Lake Michigan and the Great Lakes for the past 20 years.
