Hike to the Ida Bay Preserve (part of Crossroads at Big Creek) on May 31 at 1 pm. This gentle hike will explore the forests and open areas of this lovely site. Meet at the Zenith Street gate at 1 pm, or meet at the Collins Learning Center at 12:50 pm and hikers car pool. The hike is free, open to the public, and will last about an hour.

On June 2 at 7 pm, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society (DPAS) will hold its June meeting at the Astronomy Center (2200 Utah St. at the intersection of Utah and Cove Road). Society President Dave Udell will present the lecture: “Our Explosive Sun” and Tom Minahan will share the “Latest News in Astronomy.” Refreshments are served and visitors are encouraged.

Register now for the Crossroads Trail Run (2K, 5K, 10K run/walk) on June 20. This chip-timed event is for all ages, all levels of runners and walkers, and a great family event. Register at CrossroadsRun.com or stop by Crossroads and pick up a registration form.

The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is open daily 2 – 4:30 pm and during scheduled events. Trail use is free and open to the public. Bicycles and pets (on leash and under control) are allowed.
