Learning History in Style

Based on months of research, writing, sketching, and painting, award-winning theatrical and opera costume designer Karin Kopischke brought to life the women who settled in Door County.

On June 29 at 2 pm, Kopischke will present the story of her exhibit “Garments of Our Foundations,” and share her experiences in bringing to life the women whose names have often been omitted from the peninsula’s history. The presentation will be held at the Heritage Village at Big Creek in the Collins Learning Center.

The Heritage Village at Big Creek, open 1:30 – 3:30 pm daily, is located at 2041 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay, at the intersection of Highway 42/57 and County Highway TT. For more information visit HeritageVillage.DoorCountyHistoricalSociety.org.
