Lecture on Small Farm Profits

A lecture about “Turning a Profit on Small Farms” will be offered at the Algoma Farm Market Kitchen on March 21 from 2 – 5 pm. The workshop is presented by the Rural Enterprise Network and will feature four sessions all focused on helping the smaller farmers and growers find new revenue tracks to help them make a profit. Landowners will also hear valuable information from our local Natural Resource Conservation Service agent about conservation efforts they can implement. The sessions planned are: “Value Added Production – emphasis on added profits,” “Grass Fed: Low Input – High Profits,” “The Truth About Organic Crops” and “Conserving Your Heritage.” A tour of the Algoma Farm Market Kitchen production facility is also available. The presenters include practitioners and agency partners who will speak from experience about the viability and profitability of sustainable practices.
