Let the Festivities Begin

Santa gives a hearty wave during last year’s parade.

Sturgeon Bay will once again light up with holiday spirit this November during the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center’s annual Christmas by the Bay, Nov. 21-23 throughout downtown.

The celebration will kick off on a bright note Friday night with the tree lighting ceremony at the clock tower on Third Avenue at 7pm. Musicians Josh Gregory, Hervy Hodges and Nick Hoover will keep the night alive with tunes from 6-8pm.

The festivities continue Saturday morning with the city’s annual holiday parade at 10am. The route begins at Sawyer Park, proceeds to Oak Street and Madison Avenue and then crosses the Oregon Street Bridge before making its way onto Third Avenue and Jefferson Street all the way to its end at 6th Avenue.

Santa and his reindeer will await the public at the Door County Historical Museum following the parade from 11am – 3pm. Josh Gregory, Hervy Hodges and Nick Hoover will once again perform live music from noon until 2pm. Free wagon and trolley rides are available from 11am until 3pm.

Santa will share one last moment with the masses during Christmas by the Bay’s final event Sunday morning. Breakfast with Santa will be held from 9:30 – 11 am at Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center.
