Letter to the Editor: Breaking Fast for Veterans

The members of the Door County Veterans Service Council would like to thank everyone who attended the Armed Forces Day Breakfast – all proceeds from the annual breakfast will be used to help needy veterans in Door County.

The Veterans Service Council would also like to thank all of the posts and auxiliaries for providing the many volunteers that made the breakfast such a big success. We are especially thankful for all of the community partners that provided tremendous support – to include Father Schmitt and Corpus Christi Church for the use of the social hall and kitchen, Howard Boy Scout Troop 1113, Kim Rusch from the Green Bay Vet Center, Door County Coffee, Econo-Foods, Flanigan Distributing, the Best Western Maritime Inn, Midwest Wire Products, Cliff Ohlrogge, all of the media in Door County, and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for their generous contribution of matching funds.

A special thank you to Gladys Schommer of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 72 for all of her hard work in putting everything together!

Joe Heilman, chair, Door County Veterans Service Council
