Letter to the Editor: Differing Opinions

Although Wisconsin turned red, I note with concern that you are “seeing red” after the recent election while the majority of Door County voters see a brighter future after “feeling blue” for eight years. It’s interesting that four and eight years ago those who lost did not have temper tantrums leading to riotous protests, but waited patiently for the next elections.

I also note you mentioned a “deep pocket advertising campaign against Democrat Tom Nelson” but did not acknowledge the deep pocket campaign against Republican Senator Ron Johnson. I felt it regrettable that you referred to Ron Johnson by the derogatory term “climate change denier” when he has done an excellent job as our state senator. We need people on each side of important issues such as climate change. Unfortunately, government funding had favored those of one opinion as opposed to other legitimate scientists with the opposite conclusion.

I hope we will get along together again as we have in the past in spite of differences of party affiliation or opinion on important issues.
