Letter to the Editor: EYC Sailors Say Thanks

A special thank you to the following merchants, businesses, restaurants and artists who have generously made in-kind donations to support the Ephraim Yacht Club’s Aaron R. Moore Sailing Scholarship Fund. The fund was established five years ago to benefit the youth of Door County who otherwise could not afford to participate in the sailing lessons provided by the club.

Largely due to the generosity and kindness of these businesses, more than 175 young men and women have been provided the opportunity to learn sportsmanship, teamwork, self-reliance and the confidence that are just a few of the attributes of the lifelong sport of sailing. The EYC sailing program is one of the oldest in both the Great Lakes and the nation and therefore represents a significant unique attribute of our Door County community.

We ask that all whom are associated with this program favor these businesses with your patronage and a simple “thank you” for their support. The EYC Aaron R. Moore Sailing scholarship program depends on the care and support provided by these great businesses. Our heartfelt thanks to all:  Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant and Butik, Arbor Crowne Properties, Artist Bridget Austin, Baileys Harbor Cornerstone Pub, Bay Shore Outdoor Store, Bea’s Ho-made Products, Bridenhagen Tree and Landscape, Inc., Chef’s Hat, Chelsea Antiques and Blue Willow, City Farmer, Clay Bay Pottery, Door County Nature Works, Ecology Sports, Gage Fine Imports, Gills Rock Stoneware, Grasse’s Grill, Hands On Art Studio, Icecreamsource.com, Illusions In Watercolor, J.
