Letter to the Editor: It’s Grant Application Season for United Way

United Way Community Investment Grant applications are now available for nonprofits. The application process opens on April 1st and will remain open until May 20th.

The Community Investment Grants are awarded to programs of Door County nonprofit organizations. The programs must accelerate one of four community identified impact goals: basic needs, community, health, and alcohol and other drug abuse prevention and treatment.

Five hundred hours is the collective amount of time our Community Investment Volunteers spend reviewing these applications and making tough choices of how United Way funds are spent in Door County. From youth and elderly issues to transportation and health promotion, these volunteers examine agency budgets and program data. Volunteers keep in mind root causes of community challenges and practice honorable civility in these important discussions. Our Community Investment Committee works to ensure United Way dollars are spent in the most effective manner on the identified needs of our community.

Our donors and advocates support the mobilization and efficiency of community resources, creating lasting and meaningful community advancement. Thank you for Living United. Give. Advocate. Volunteer.

Grant application information can be found on the United Way website at unitedwaydc.com or call United Way’s office at 920.746.9645.
