Letter to the Editor: Ripple Effect

This letter has to do with allowing the CAFO to expand their dairy herd from 6,000 cows to 10,000 cows.

Now to clean up this pollution I understand we the taxpayers should provide the money to clean up this situation. (I say that is the polluter’s responsibility.)

Have you noticed the ripple effect? The DNR of Wisconsin allows a large farm to expand their farm from 6,000 cows to 10,000. Now that has caused a flood of milk on the market and some of the small farms to go out of business.

Canada does not want the milk because it will flood their market and their farmers will go out of business.

So Trump slaps a tariff on the lumber that we import from Canada. How stupid. This causes the price of lumber to go up here in the U.S. and in turn the cost of building a new home or business establishment goes up.

As I see it the bottom line is (greed). Some big farmer isn’t happy with having 6,000 cows so he gets permission from the DNR here in Wisconsin to have 10,000 cows. It smells doesn’t it and I don’t mean of manure. I just wonder how much campaign money had to do with it, don’t you?
