We have the power and the tools to transform the suffering of the parents that have lost their children to gun violence; we have the power to stop the senseless killing with guns thought out our country. Our countrymen are dying not because they have to but because we allow it and the decisions each of us make every day affects their plight. These are conditions over which we the voters can exert some control. When large corporations, lobbyists and the NRA wage inappropriate influence on our elected officials with large campaign donations, it is up to us to be educated and to understand what is taking place.
It is time to take responsibility for our inaction. We are the ones to make this country of ours a better place. If we are for common sense gun laws, make that known to our elected officials, get out and do something about it and most of all vote out the ones that don’t listen to us. We have the power, it’s time we start using it. Remember, silence won’t protect us.
