Letter to the Editor: Vote for Bhirdo

A very important election is coming up on April 5. Yes, it is very important to choose wisely in the presidential primaries, but even more important is your local election for the Village Board of Trustees. They are the people most directly responsible to you for the smooth operation of your village. By contacting Christy Sully in the Administration Office at 920.854.4118, you can make sure how to register to vote and obtain an Absentee Ballot if you will be out of town on Election Day.

I’m writing to encourage all of you to vote for Denise Bhirdo to join that board. Having known her since she was a teenager growing up in Sister Bay, as well as having served with her in the past for more than 13 years on the Board and many committees, I can speak of her unique qualifications.

She has grown up here, worked and owned a business year-around here, and is well acquainted with the joys and struggles of making a living and paying taxes in Sister Bay. Denise is intelligent, a good listener, and a prompt problem-solver. If she doesn’t know the answer to your question, she will find out and get back to you. She will never give contradictory answers to different people. She will argue and debate from having done the research, but she is not afraid to change her opinion when convinced by valid information.

Denise values the history of the Village of Sister Bay, while appreciating new ideas and well-planned innovation. A vote for Denise is quite simply a vote of confidence for a young woman who always shows honesty, integrity and commitment. She will be a worthy representative.
