Letter to the Editor: A Poem for Mother’s Day

This Mothers Day I’d like to send out this poem to honor all mothers, written by my mother, Kathleen Kerscher, who passed away 20 years ago.

Whether our Moms are living or dead,

I know there’s one thing can be said.

No matter how old we might be,

Her loving ways we’ll always see.

Memories of her will always live on

As thru our lives, was a very strong bond.

And from little on we learned to know

Her love and help would continue to grow.

There were times we did not agree,

But as days passed by, we were able to see.

It was thru love she made her decisions,

And always with love her help was given.

The same holds true with Mary, our mother above,

And with her, we share our love,

For Jesus, her son, who gave so much

And everyone’s life, He was sure to touch.

So His mother, and ours we must never forget,

As with prayers and thanks, life patterns we set.

Area churches will hold their annual Mother’s Day Rose Sale – beautiful long-stemmed red roses will be available after all services Saturday & Sunday, May 12-13. The rose is a sign of our love and symbol of life. This annual sale is sponsored by the Wis. Right to Life Door County Chapter.
