Letter to the Editor: A Vote for Ron Johnson

With the Democrats controlling the U.S. Senate by the smallest of margins, Wisconsin’s Senate race is possibly the most meaningful in history. The candidates are incumbent Sen. Ron Johnson and Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes.

I believe the national issues in the next Congress are crime, the military, energy, inflation, border security and the economy. Who will do the better job in funding law enforcement; rebuilding the military to the extent that Russia and China cease pursuing territorial gains by force; restoring energy independence so that we and the rest of the West are not at the mercy of oil producers Russia, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and the rest of OPEC; suppressing inflation by voting down huge omnibus bills containing trillions for God knows what; securing the border to prevent the influx of the unprecedented number of illegal migrants and contraband; enacting tax and permitting policies that enable private companies to prosper and create family-supporting jobs; and preventing our IRAs from going deeper into the dumpster?

For me it’s an easy choice: Ron Johnson!

With both houses of Congress and the presidency controlled by the Democrats, most Americans feel that the country is on the wrong track. Let’s do our part to change that by putting Johnson back in office.

P.S. It seems that the failing school/parental rights and abortion issues will be decided on the state level. I might add that all parents are paying taxes to educate their kids. If parents prefer to send their kids to private schools (like the Barack Obamas, for instance), the money goes with the kid. It came out of his parents’ pocket.
