Letter to the Editor: Civility and Mob Rule

All of your readers should look with disapproval upon the tactics that  Democrats and many of their followers are using.

Think about the accosting of Ted Cruz and his wife trying to have a private meal in a restaurant, finally driving them out. Similar things happened to Sarah Sanders in a Red Hen restaurant where she was refused service. Then came the shooting of Steve Scalise, a Republican Congressional leader, at a Republican baseball practice. Now police patrol Senate halls and social events to protect representatives.

The Kavanaugh hearings could not even get started but for the constant interruption by loud yelling from the gallery and constant demands from the Democratic members to postpone and alter the hearings. This went on for days, and when it was time for the committee to vote Senator Jeff Flake was pinned in an elevator by two women who demanded he withhold his vote pending yet another FBI investigation. Not only were these demonstrations coordinated they were synchronized according to a plan to cause maximum disruption.

Harassment has clearly become a tactic of the Democrats to disrupt the political process in any way possible. They flood Town Hall meetings with yellers to drown out speakers, they deny conservative speakers the chance to speak on college campuses and when they do manage to speak they are harassed so the speakers can’t be heard.

This is now a conscious tactic as expressed by Hillary Clinton, Cory Booker and Eric Holder openly calling for more use of these tactics.  Only Michelle Obama, to her credit, among Democrats called for civility.

These kind of no holds barred politics push us toward mob rule characteristic of dictatorships and of banana Republics.

When you vote next month remember who is blocking free speech and promoting mob rule, obstruction, violence and chaos and vote accordingly.
