Letter to the Editor: Gallagher Voted No to Sensible Gun Control

There have been 9,092 gun deaths in the U. S. since the beginning of the year. Did you know that 93 percent of Americans, 89 percent of Republicans and 87 percent of gun owners support background checks for all gun buyers? (True according to a March, 2019 Quinnipiac poll.) Then why would our elected representative, Mike Gallagher, vote no on two gun bills brought before the House this past spring?

Gallagher voted no – Requiring background checks for all firearm sales.

Gallagher voted no – Giving law enforcement agencies more time to conduct background checks.

Is Mike Gallaher representing your views on sensible gun control? Is he being a responsible representative who is concerned about your safety and the safety of your children, grandchildren, friends and family? No. It is time to replace Republican elected officials who are only listening to the NRA and start electing representatives who will listen to their constituents. It is time for a change. Consider voting for Amanda Stuck who is running against Gallagher in our 8th Congressional District!
