Letter to the Editor: Many Thanks to Write On’s Volunteers

A bouquet of thanks to the Open House committee, volunteers, and participants at Write On, Door County’s 3rd annual Open House on June 12. The grounds at Write On in Juddville buzzed with activities celebrating National Children’s Day. Special thanks to our featured children’s authors/illustrators: Miranda Paul, Mary Ellen Sisulak, Jill Petra Harding, Kate Kapolnek, Harold Thorpe and Ann Heyse. Authors read in the storyteller’s tent, and visited and signed their books for excited readers of all ages. Delicious thanks to Karen and Cynthia and Northern Door Children’s Center for providing popcorn and cotton candy and smiles. Amazing thanks to our face painters Brittany, Olivia, and Lia, who created magical works of art on the faces of many. Awesome thanks to Ariana, Abby and Anna, the creators of our fun and fabulous “Sign Fairy” treasure hunt.

Thanks, as well, to the incredible steering committee who helped plan and organize the event: Karen Corekin of Northern Door Children’s Center, Brit Gartner of the Boys & Girls Club of Door County, Marge Grutzmacher of the Sister Bay Visitor’s Center, and Drew Richmond of the Northern Door YMCA. And again, to all of our volunteers, we are so grateful for your time and talent!

Write On, Door County is a 501(c) 3 committed to providing writing opportunities for all ages and experience levels. Everyone has a story to tell. What’s yours?
