Letter to the Editor: Narcan Helps Those in Need

Initially, I questioned the usefulness of a Narcan vending machine at Sturgeon Bay’s NEW Sober Living thrift shop. I questioned whether it would increase the acceptance and use of illegal opioid drugs.
Recently, the Door County Drug Task Force had a drug bust. I think that it is important for us as citizens to remember that law enforcement and private Narcan availability are not mutually exclusive. We are going through something as a nation, and fentanyl is a true threat. I lost my sister to fentanyl-laced drugs.
I am very happy to see the community coming together to do their best to help those in need. I look forward to a time in which we can each live in peace and deal with our demons in a less deadly way.
