Letter to the Editor: Reelect Austad for County Supervisor, District 9

I urge voters of District 9 to reelect Dan Austad to the Door County Board of Supervisors, District 9, on April 5.

Dan Austad is the longest-serving member of the Door County Board of Supervisors and a former chair of the county board. Prior to that, he spent 13 years on the Sturgeon Bay Plan Commission.

Dan was instrumental in the decision to build the Door County Justice Center and County Highway Department on Duluth Avenue in Sturgeon Bay, as well as the ambulance station in Sister Bay. He also played a leadership role in the construction of the Veterans Memorial near Sturgeon Bay’s City Hall.

Dan’s additional contributions to the community include:

• Spearheading expansion of the Door County Historical Museum.

• Playing a significant role in the remodel of the Aging and Disability Resource Center (senior center).

• Serving as president of the Door County Maritime Museum during the Gills Rock expansion and construction of the Sturgeon Bay facility.

Dan’s experience, wisdom and dedication to Door County speak for themselves. His commitment to the future of Door County is self-evident.

Let us reelect incumbent Dan Austad to the Door County Board of Supervisors, District 9, on April 5.
