Letter to the Editor: Republicans Vote for Us

I have seen signs around Door County saying, “Vote for Democrats; they vote for us.” Really?

If you cut police budgets, you will get more crime on the streets. So if you intentionally cut police budgets, you wanted more crime on the streets.

If you cut back the supply of oil, gas prices will go up. So if you intentionally cut back the supply of oil, you wanted gas prices to go up.

If you continue to borrow trillions of dollars with the possibility of a recession looming and rising interest rates (and even call it the Inflation Reduction Act), inflation will hit hard. So if you intentionally borrow trillions of dollars with rising interest rates and the possibility of a recession looming, you want inflation to hit hard.

If you leave the southern border wide open, you get more drug trafficking and human trafficking. So if you intentionally leave the border wide open, you wanted more drug trafficking and human trafficking.

If you shut down 40% of the supply of baby formula in February, you’ll get a huge shortage. When you know a huge baby-formula shortage is coming because of the FDA’s actions and you do nothing to prevent it month after month until the crisis finally hits hard, you intended the crisis.

So far, this Democratic administration has improved life for millions of illegal aliens and possibly Afghan terrorist groups, but not the people it is responsible for. The Democrats need to be known by their actions and less by their melodic rhetoric. They say one thing, but their actions produce incongruent results.

This phenomenon is present in both federal and state offices. Our present governor is taking credit for a budget surplus engineered by the Republicans while failing to mention that he proposed a deficit budget with tax increases.

Mandela Barnes has spent 10 times as much on his personal security as the prior lieutenant governor while advocating no bail for suspects. He brags about his hardworking parents but doesn’t mention any of his own accomplishments because he has none.

Time for a makeover – vote Republican.
