Letter to the Editor: Sturgeon Bay Street Work

Since last fall I’ve had a front row seat to water and gas line work on my street (Georgia). Starts at 7 am when they are here. Had gas line cut by contractor when I was out of town and almost came back to no home.  Next day, contractor nicked another line at corner. Have been asked for access to basement without advance notice, what if I wasn’t home? Have been asked to move car. Orange barrels appear then disappear then reappear again.  Sidewalks ripped up. Lawns needing repair. Workers disappear for days than show up again. Quite a few streets in town are in same shape. Noise, disruption and no end in sight. Who’s in charge of this? Why isn’t communication to street residents better? What is scheduled end to this work? What is plan for snow removal if not complete by winter?
